Son, for God's sake, will there be war?

 

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Adis Arapović, an independent MP in the Federal Parliament, posted on FB. 

"Yesterday, a nice elderly gentleman approached me on the street, apologizing for being so direct, and asked me two questions. 'Son, you follow this and you know, for God's sake, will there be war?'

Although he was somewhat hiding his concern with a smile, I saw, I felt, grandfather's fear. I tried to convince him that these were political games, intentional intimidation of the people, that he shouldn't worry and shouldn't believe everything he hears on the news.

'So, there won't be. And will pensioners get any help? It's barely possible to survive,' he then asked.

From these two questions, two great fears can be read, as well as their order. The fear of hunger, of the social humiliation in which pensioners and a good portion of the population live, is overshadowed by the imposed fear of war. The terrible price increases and the difficulty in meeting the basic life needs of most citizens of our country have been concealed for months by a group of manipulators from their comfortable armchairs by sowing fear, confusing the people, and deliberately diverting attention from their own criminal affairs, theft, and several wasted years in fruitless discussions, with no benefit whatsoever for that ordinary, small, frightened man.

The amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH and the accompanying prohibitions on denying genocide, glorifying war criminals, and humiliating victims, imposed by the former High Representative, are not the reason for the attack on peace, the constitutional order, and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Milorad Dodik with a group of followers.

That was a served pretext, and the reasons are different. Dodik, as the unquestionable boss of one entity, has long aimed to become its owner. He would become the owner by declaring state property (land, forests, rivers) as entity property. He can then dispose of such property without restriction. He can then sell such property, build whatever the boss wants on it, or give it as collateral for loans without which the boss cannot rule. Lenders seeking such material collateral do not seek reforms and strengthening of the state. On the other hand, the IMF offers the cheapest loans in the world, provided there is the rule of law, implementation of reforms, and strengthening of state institutions. That is why Dodik rejects the IMF.

The Constitutional Court of BiH has, through several decisions this year, determined that state property belongs to Bosnia and Herzegovina, not its entities. In April this year, Dodik forced the RS Government to borrow on the London Stock Exchange for 300 million KM, and the public never learned the details, except that the entity will repay 375 million KM with huge interest. Earlier, the RS Government also borrowed 200 million KM on the Vienna Stock Exchange. All of this comes due from 2023. The internal and external debt of the RS is huge and unsustainable. Unless you have vast state property that you can then squander, maintain acquired positions and privileges, and prolong the demise of your own entity and the people behind whom you hide for a few more years.

Therefore, the Constitutional Court and the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH are among the boss's first targets. The goal is to prevent the state from having a supreme judicial authority. And then, through highwayman-like appropriation, to dispose of tax money as the boss sees fit. There is no country in the world that has one currency but two tax systems. One currency but two constitutional courts. One currency but two armies. The breakdown of any of these systems inevitably means the use of force.

In this intention to retain positions of power for himself and his criminalized circle, to improve his tarnished image among his own people, to forget the murders of people with industrial oxygen, stolen icons, various shoe-making scams, and other corruption affairs, the boss is ready to provoke conflict, to make a nightmare of our lives, to destroy everything that has been built in these 25 years of peace, reconstruction, and coexistence, and he is especially ready to destroy the idea that there are younger, better, less selfish, and more valuable people who could replace him. No matter how far he goes with creating chaos, the hidden goal is also the upcoming elections, where voters should again vote out of fear, not out of hope. To agree to a nightmare, rather than seek an alternative.

This insane calculation has its partners in the other entity and in the international community. This confusion of the people from within and without seems synchronized. While the state is completely blocked by the will of a group of rebels and separatists, while we wait for roadblocks on the entity line, while at the will of Dragan Čović (with the gratitude of Izetbegović and Radončić), we endure an illegitimate and criminalized Federal government, second-rate foreign envoys are declaring fragments of the election law, which bother the same Čović, as the biggest problem in the country! All those who participate in these "negotiations" are working against the state. Such harmful negotiations must be stopped, institutions must be revived, and prosecutor's offices and courts must put an end to the creeping coups from both entities that are destroying our homeland and making life meaningless for every well-intentioned person. Foreigners have an obligation to protect the state and citizens from greedy politicians on the verge of madness," wrote Arapović.
