Unions Respond to Krišto: Employees We Represent Expect Accountability, Not Ignorance

(Patria) - The President of the Union of the State Investigation and Protection Agency Edin Kahrimanović and the President of the Union of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs Mladenka Hrkalo sent an open letter to the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH Borjana Krišto regarding statements about the criminal complaint filed against her, as well as members of the Presidency of BiH and the Minister of Finance of BiH by three state unions due to the non-adoption of the budget.

"Your statement that you are not interested in it and that these matters/criminal complaints do not interest you, represents a worrying indicator of the attitude towards the rule of law, workers' rights, and institutions of a legal state.

We remind you that no one, regardless of their position, is above the law, and that criminal complaints are a legal mechanism by which eventual responsibility is sought to be determined in accordance with the laws of this country.

The union does not file complaints to 'interest' any political official, but for the competent authorities to act in accordance with the law. We expect you, as Chairperson, to respect institutions and the legal order, even when it includes reviewing your own actions or the actions of the body you chair. The employees we represent expect accountability, not ignorance. We will continue to use all available legal and institutional mechanisms to protect their rights, regardless of who is interested in it or not," the letter states.
