(Patria) - The Central Committee of the University of Sarajevo Union held an extraordinary session today, where the Union President Amir Zahirović stated that he was informed by the Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth Adna Mesihović that the procedure for paying November salaries is underway and will be paid by Monday, December 16, 2024 at the latest.
"However, considering the recent exclusion and discrimination of University of Sarajevo employees compared to other budget users, as well as the unacceptable behavior of the Sarajevo Canton Government towards University employees, the Union's Central Committee adopted an urgent agenda at today's session and began organizing the following activities:
- Protests
- Warning strike
- General strike
We strongly warn the KS Government that at the beginning of January 2025, the University of Sarajevo Union will officially report these activities to the competent institutions. In case of renewed discrimination, the Union will immediately initiate a work stoppage in all organizational units of the University, and employees will demand their legal rights in front of the KS Government building.
In addition to the aforementioned activities, the University of Sarajevo Union will also file criminal complaints against the responsible persons directly involved in the discrimination of University employees.
We tell the KS Government that such practices will not be tolerated and that we will use all legal mechanisms to protect the rights and dignity of our employees," the UNSA Union announced.
