Healthcare Workers' Union: We are always here for citizens even without a Branch Collective Agreement

As is known, healthcare workers, as a sector of special interest in general, and especially in times of emergency such as various accidents, pandemics, and wars, are at their workplaces to help citizens in need of medical assistance and care, states the Healthcare Workers' Union of Sarajevo Canton (KS).

While numerous institutions, offices, centers, and other legal entities are closing or shortening their working hours, healthcare facilities remain open and healthcare workers regularly perform their duties.

These are the most important people for all of us at this moment, and they do not give up on us despite the greatest risks.

In this regard, we inform you that the members of the Healthcare Workers' Union of KS are available to the healthcare system in KS and will, regardless of the general strike and the fact that they do not yet have a signed Branch Collective Agreement on the rights and obligations of employers and employees in the healthcare sector in the KS area, act according to the orders of the Federal Civil Protection Staff, as well as the orders of the KS Civil Protection Staff until the state of natural disaster ceases.

The Healthcare Workers' Union has also provided us with a letter from the Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry of the Public Institution Sarajevo Canton Health Center, number: 01-01/20 dated March 18, 2020, with the aim of informing the public about the attitude of the members of the Healthcare Workers' Union in Sarajevo Canton and the members of the Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry of Sarajevo Canton towards the current situation and the declared state of natural and other disasters in Sarajevo Canton.
