BHRT Workers' Union: 60% of 800 employees earn between 600 and 900 KM, we demand an increase or we will stop working!

(Patria) - The Independent Union of Workers at BHRT issued a statement ahead of a meeting at Elektroprivreda BiH where solutions for collecting the RV tax are to be discussed.

"The Independent Union of Workers at BHRT calls on all responsible parties to be serious and responsible towards the employees of the Public Service of BiH. We demand that a systemic solution be found and a Contract be signed to ensure an increase in salaries, meal allowances, contribution payments, and improvement of working conditions.

Gentlemen, think carefully, the existence of around 800 employees is at stake, 60 percent of whom receive salaries between 600 and 900 KM, which is not even enough for basic life needs, and you know that well. Are these funds only for utilities and medicine, not for a life worthy of a human being?!

If you do not increase our income, we will stop working. We have the support of our colleagues from Unions in BiH and the region, the European and International Federation of Journalists and Media Workers.

For the umpteenth time, we call on the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the Financial Inspection to investigate media reports about who is withholding or wasting millions of KM of BiH citizens' funds and where are they? It is high time to open that case as well and enter all three public broadcasters in Bosnia and Herzegovina," stated the Union.
