Trade Union of Police Officers, Civil Servants and Employees of Sarajevo Canton: Who is Dividing Sarajevo Police Officers?

(Patria) - The Trade Union of Police Officers, Civil Servants and Employees of Sarajevo Canton cannot remain indifferent to the fact, after a wave of reactions from the public, media, and ordinary mortals (citizens), regarding the traffic accident on 10.07.2025, when the fact that a police officer and a member of our Trade Union was seriously injured in it was concealed, and that under the mentioned public pressure, the authorities, after almost two weeks, hurried to visit the injured police officer in the hospital, announcing to the public that they were the ones who visited the police officer, that they sympathize with him, etc. The Trade Union will not deal with Katic, Uko, regressive benefits, or uncollected lawsuits, etc. That will be for another time, according to the Trade Union's reaction.
"The Trade Union is focusing on Saim Smajlović, the president of the Management Board of a second trade union that exists within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, who also announced through the media that after 13 days they visited the injured police officer, who, as he says, is not their member, but 'for them, all police officers are colleagues and brothers.'

Saim, do you have any shame, remorse, honor, or morality? Or is populism, hypocrisy, and someone's order stronger than honor, integrity, and morality?! We dare to say that your action, Saim, is hypocritical, to say the least. You ask why?! We remind you, and you should inform the wider public, that on 08.07. this year, you yourself did not allow police officer Amir Bašić to be transported by an official vehicle from Sarajevo to Nezuk for the March of Peace because, as you said, he is not a member of the trade union you lead. Shameful beyond measure, and be ashamed if you have any honor.

If you were ordered to have animosity towards this Trade Union, or if these are your own decisions or the decisions of the Management Board you lead, which this Trade Union does not want to judge or debate, it would be moral, since you invoke collegiality, to remember that almost 24 years ago you had a traffic accident in the line of duty in an identical way to how Dalibor Bobar did two weeks ago, and that police officer Viktor Ćatić, with whom you worked at the critical moment, saved your life. And if he didn't, he at least provided you with first aid. You forgot, he was your witness and visited you the very next day in the hospital. But unfortunately, times have changed. One police officer, by your order, cannot travel with your transport to the March of Peace because he is not a member of your trade union. You do not answer the phone of another police officer, who saved your life, because he is the president of another Trade Union. But, on the other hand, you visit a police officer in the hospital with whom you have no connection because all police officers are brothers, and you will announce this to the media. The fact that it has been almost half a month since the accident, and you are only visiting today, who cares. You are playing with the emotions of the injured person and his family, but after all, who asks them. It is important to present yourself as caring and collegial.

Hypocritical beyond hypocrisy," the reaction states.
