Union wrote to Uk: Some cantons have declared April 11 and May 3 as non-school days, make a decision for the Sarajevo Canton

(Patria) - The Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing of the Sarajevo Canton sent a letter to the Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, requesting that he make a decision regarding non-school days, considering the upcoming holidays.

"According to information available to this Union, in the Tuzla and Zenica-Doboj cantons, a decision was made to suspend educational work in primary and secondary schools on April 11, 2024, and May 3, 2024, while in the Una-Sana Canton, it was recommended that employers allow workers to take leave on the first and second day of Eid, and in accordance with the law, also on the third day of Ramadan Eid.

Through this, we submit a Request and call on you to make an appropriate decision, all with the aim of enabling workers, children, and students in the Sarajevo Canton to celebrate the holidays as was done in the aforementioned cantons," the unionists state in the letter.
