Union of Primary Education Supports and Calls on Educators to Attend the "BiH for Free Palestine" Rally on October 12

(Patria) - The Independent Union of Primary Education of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Cantonal Board of the Independent Union of Primary Education of Canton Sarajevo has supported and called on educators to attend the rally "BiH for Free Palestine" which will be held on Sunday, October 12, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

The gathering and departure are announced in front of the Memorial to the Murdered Children of Sarajevo.

"We believe that at a time when innocent people are suffering violence, persecution, and loss, our support means more than ever. Students in Palestine have not had even basic conditions for schooling for two years. In Palestine, education has become a luxury, schools have disappeared under the rubble, and children, youth, teachers, and professors are exposed to constant danger. For all of them in Gaza, school days have been replaced by days of struggle for survival, school bells have been replaced by sirens, and instead of books, they hold only pages filled with fear. This is not just an education crisis, it is a humanitarian crisis. When children do not have access to knowledge, their future is denied. Silence in such moments is not neutral, silence is complicity, and that is why we raise our voice, that is why we stand with the people of Palestine, because injustice against one nation concerns us all. Solidarity with the Palestinian people is not a matter of politics, but a matter of humanity.

Every child deserves peace, security, and the opportunity to learn, without exceptions and without excuses. Our support is a message that Palestinians are not alone, and their struggle for dignity, education, and a life worth living should certainly have a huge resonance around the world. The presence of educators at the protest is particularly important because they represent resistance to silence and oblivion, but they are also a guarantee that truth endures even under the most difficult circumstances.

Therefore, we have called on our members to attend the aforementioned rally in solidarity with the people of Palestine, and as union solidarity is of utmost importance, we also call on all unions in Canton Sarajevo to actively involve their members and stand with justice by attending the rally.

On behalf of a significant number of workers in preschool institutions and primary schools in Canton Sarajevo, members of our Union, we hereby request that the public be informed of the above statement.
