Primary Education Union Demands Salary Increase for Workers in Lower Pay Grades from the KS Government

(Patria) - The Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing of FBiH - Cantonal Board Sarajevo has requested the Government of Sarajevo Canton to increase the salaries of all workers classified in the last four pay grades (8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th grade) by increasing the coefficient by 25 percent, meaning the coefficient for these workers would be increased to 3.24 and 3.62.

If the Government believes the coefficient cannot be increased, the Union requests that a clause on difficult working conditions be included in the Collective Agreement for the activities of preschool education and primary education and upbringing in Sarajevo Canton, entailing a 25 percent salary increase for the aforementioned workers.

In March of this year, the Government of Sarajevo Canton adopted Pedagogical Standards and Norms, which prescribed many additional tasks for technical staff, and the workload and number of tasks for some workers have been doubled, according to the Union's statement.
