Union of Primary Education and Upbringing KS Calls Members, Other Unions, and Citizens to Protest on February 21st

(Patria) - The Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing FBiH - Cantonal Board of the Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing of Sarajevo Canton, has issued a call to its members to respond to the protest on February 21st at 12 PM.

"Daily protests in Sarajevo followed a tram accident, as an expression of solidarity and demands for change. Students and citizens of Sarajevo are gathering for protests after a terrible accident in which one young life was lost, and several people were injured, including a seventeen-year-old girl with severe consequences. Those gathered at the protests are voicing demands, seeking greater safety in public transport and stating that similar tragedies must not happen again and that institutions must take responsibility.

"THE INDEPENDENT UNION OF PRIMARY EDUCATION AND UPBRINGING OF THE FEDERATION OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA" - The Cantonal Board of the Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing of Sarajevo Canton supports the youth's demands. We call on primary school and preschool workers to join the announced protest on Saturday, February 21, 2026, and show solidarity and determination in the fight for a better system with their presence.

The message of the gathering is clear: safety and dignity, and the responsibility of those in charge must be a priority.

We extend the invitation to join the protests to all our allies, unions in Sarajevo Canton and their members, as well as all citizens who believe that safety is a fundamental right - let them support the protest and the fight for a better system with their presence on February 21, 2026. Together, we can demand accountability and social changes that will ensure a better future for us and our children.
