Education Union: KS Government is violating the Collective Agreement again

(Patria) - The Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing (SSOOiO) FBiH - Cantonal Board of SSOOiO KS announced today that for the umpteenth time, the KS Government is not respecting the Collective Agreement for the activities of preschool upbringing and primary upbringing and education in KS.

"Namely, by Conclusion number: 02-04-55334-26/24 dated 30.12.2024, the Government of Sarajevo Canton, in point 7 of the cited Conclusion, grossly violates the provision of Article 91, paragraph (1) of the Collective Agreement.

In accordance with the above, we have sent a sharp letter to the Prime Minister, pointing out the violation of the Collective Agreement for the activities of preschool upbringing and primary upbringing and education in Sarajevo Canton ("Official Gazette of Sarajevo Canton", numbers: 24/22, 40/22, 7/24, 29/24 and 39/24).

With the letter, we called on all employees who are being retired by directors according to the Conclusion, and not according to the Collective Agreement, to sue the institution in which they work, and the Government will have to allocate money from the budget for the damages incurred.

We also emphasized that education is not like some other activity and that the Sarajevo Canton Government's 'machine-gunning' of budget organizations cannot be applied to education either," stated the announcement from the Cantonal Board of SSOOiO KS.
