Education Union Demands from Uk to Act on Employer Aid Payment Decree

(Patria) - The Government of the Federation of BiH, with the aim of mitigating the economic consequences caused by the rise in prices of basic foodstuffs, has adopted a Decree regulating the right to payment of aid by the employer.

The Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing, the Cantonal Board of the Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing of Canton Sarajevo (SSOOiO FBiH – KO KS) has sent a letter to Prime Minister Nihad Uk, requesting that the KS Government act on the decree.

The employer may pay aid in a maximum amount of up to 2,768 KM, in accordance with financial capabilities and the rules prescribed by the Decree, but also in an amount less than 2,768 KM. Aid can be paid from the date the Decree enters into force, and no later than December 31, 2024. The Decree specifies that aid payment can be made in a maximum of six installments (parts), with the total amount not exceeding 2,768 KM. Also, aid can be paid in a single installment.

"Considering the above, we ask you to undertake all activities within your jurisdiction, to ensure funds for the payment of aid for all employees in preschool institutions and primary schools in Canton Sarajevo through your work and actions.

We believe that this time the Government of Canton Sarajevo will act on the Decree of the Government of the Federation of BiH and that the employees who raise and educate children/students in Canton Sarajevo will be respected by you as the Prime Minister of the Government of Canton Sarajevo," the Union's statement reads.
