The Union of Independent Trade Unions of Bosnia and Herzegovina threatens to organize new worker protests if the FBiH Government does not withdraw the amendments to the Labor Law it recently adopted, reports the Patria news agency.
In the FBiH, the Labor Law was adopted at the end of July last year, which at the time also sparked worker protests in front of the Federal Parliament. Less than six months later, the Government is again amending the Labor Law. Prime Minister Fadil Novalić said that the Government wants to further simplify business operations in the FBiH, but also regulate some other areas.
The Union of Independent Trade Unions does not see it that way. The SSSBiH warns that, according to the new amendments to the Labor Law, the minimum wage in the FBiH will be determined by the Government, not by employer associations and unions. The Union also demands from the Government the urgent signing of a general collective agreement and the opening of negotiation processes on branch collective agreements, reports Patria.
