(Patria) - The Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing of Sarajevo Canton sent an invitation to Prime Minister Nihad Uka for dialogue and negotiations on protecting the labor-legal and social status of over 5,000 education workers in Sarajevo Canton.
As they state in the letter, in the past two months, they have sent dozens of letters (requests, proposals, and initiatives) to the Government concerning the protection of the labor-legal and economic-social status of around 5,000 workers in the fields of preschool education and primary education and upbringing in Sarajevo Canton.
"You are the representative of the employer for the aforementioned workers who are also citizens of Sarajevo Canton. There is no dialogue, you do not respond to letters, and dialogue, conversation, and negotiations on workers' rights have become a distant thought.
Yesterday, we read on the website of the Government of Sarajevo Canton that the Government remains open to dialogue and understanding the problems of all citizens, respecting legal procedures and democratic principles, and that the Government of Sarajevo Canton believes that all problems can be resolved through constructive conversations.
We invite you to dialogue, conversation, and negotiations. We will host you at the Union Hall. You set the date and let us know when you are coming. It's up to you!
Be consistent with your words and what you published yesterday on the website of the Government of Sarajevo Canton, respond to our letters, and let's open negotiations. Let's resolve problems through constructive conversation and negotiations. Do not allow education workers to seek their rights on the street or through strikes," the letter states.
