BHRT Union: This is the final warning, underpaid workers are working without equipment and in uncertainty about what tomorrow brings!

(Patria) - The financial situation at BHRT is serious and this broadcaster faces closure due to inadequate distribution of collected funds from RTV fees, it was stated at today's press conference of the Independent Union of Workers at BHRT.

The president of this union, Merima Kurtović-Pašalić, said that there is no money for salaries and contributions while others "squander our money".

We are a mirror of the state. It is a shame that parliamentarians earn five to six thousand KM. It is a shame that BHRT management earns a salary of five thousand, while those who produce programs earn 600 KM. A family cannot live on that. A fair systematization of jobs must be implemented. Only in BiH do we have to beg politicians to do their job. It is high time you took us seriously – said Kurtović-Pašalić.

Union member Minja Erić points out that there is verbal support from government representatives at all meetings "but so far we have no concrete support or solution, nor has one been proposed".

- It is even more difficult now because the contract with Elektroprivreda for collecting RTV fees has not been signed to this day. One of the biggest problems is also the equipment on which work is done, which constantly fails and is dangerous to the health of the workers. Contributions are not paid, and people wait for months to retire. The existence of more than 800 families is threatened – said Erić.

Furthermore, it was emphasized that nothing concrete has been done from the announced legal changes and the formation of working groups over the past two mandates.
