Unionists to meet with Uka on October 28: First demand is increase of the base

(Patria) - A meeting between the Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, and representatives of the Union Coordination in the Sarajevo Canton has been scheduled for Monday, October 28, to discuss the base for salary calculation in 2025.

The Government of the Sarajevo Canton has not yet determined the Proposal of the Budget of the Sarajevo Canton for 2025, but it is expected to be finalized by the beginning of December, given that the Budget is adopted at the end of the year.

The Union Coordination gathers around 25,000 workers who receive their salaries from the Budget of the Sarajevo Canton and the Health Insurance Fund of the Sarajevo Canton.

The unions sent an invitation for a meeting several weeks ago, to which a response has now been received from the office of Prime Minister Uk.

The unions have two demands. One is to increase the base to 425 marks, and the other is the payment of one-time financial assistance according to the Decree of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This decree is valid until December 31, 2024.

The Coordination consists of the Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Cantonal Committee of the Independent Union of Primary Education and Upbringing, the Police Union of the Sarajevo Canton, the Independent Union of Civil Servants and Employees of the Sarajevo Canton, the Independent Union of Civil Servants and Employees in State Bodies, Judicial Authorities and Public Institutions in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Union of Secondary and Higher Education, Upbringing, Science and Culture of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Cantonal Committee of the Sarajevo Canton, the Union of Healthcare Workers in the Sarajevo Canton, and the Independent Union of Workers in Public Utilities.
