Forces of Destabilization Awaken: How Karamarko Joined Dodik and Čović in Russian Roulette

Just as the presidential elections in neighboring Croatia have concluded, a new fierce political battle is ahead of us, which is already reflecting on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Namely, the president of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) of Croatia will soon be elected, which is the most powerful political position in that country, and one of the most important in the region, given that Croatia is an EU and NATO member. In addition to the current president Andrej Plenković, Miro Kovač, the former head of diplomacy who started his campaign a few months ago with a visit to BiH, is already in the race. 

However, the real danger for Plenković does not come from his former minister but from the man he succeeded at the helm of the strongest Croatian right-wing party – Tomislav Karamarko. Although he has not yet publicly announced his candidacy, Karamarko has been plotting his return since his inglorious departure from the head of the government and the party. The latest polls show that Plenković has more than 40 percent support, and Karamarko only about 10 percent, but when the party wings of Kovač and Karamarko unite, the current Croatian Prime Minister could have major problems retaining the position of the first party leader, and thus probably the prime minister's seat. 

In doing so, Karamarko has made a series of secret and public alliances with Plenković's opponents – and there are quite a few of them, including from powerful political centers, not only in the region. 
BiH has long been a training ground for the struggle of various influences, with the dangerous migrant and political crisis in our country threatening to escalate to unprecedented proportions. 
That nothing is accidental will be shown by information obtained by special investigators from the USA and the EU, who have been conducting an investigation into the influence of Russian politics in this area for years. 

Their report serves as a security assessment for international forces and organizations in Croatia, and for the countries of the Western Balkans: Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Over the past ten years, a special intelligence and counterintelligence war has been waged in these countries between two powerful opponents. 
On one side are NATO and the European Union, supported by the vast majority of the population in these areas, and on the other are Russia and Iran. The influence of Moscow and Tehran is a very desirable tool for some to overthrow political opponents and cause destabilization, which is essentially the only goal of these two powers in the Balkans. 

On the other hand, politicians like Milorad Dodik (SNSD) and Dragan Čović (HDZ BiH), and even Karamarko, who are networked with a criminal octopus throughout the region, see destabilization as their chance to achieve political goals! 

How Karamarko ended up with the Russians is an interesting question. But, during his term as Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia in 2010, Tomislav Karamarko received an official visit from the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Mohsen Sharif Khodaei. 

Speaking about the imminent entry of the Republic of Croatia into the EU, the minister emphasized that the Ministry of the Interior (MUP) of Croatia is "somehow closest to the European Union" among all ministries because it meets all Union standards and explained: – By joining the EU, the MUP of Croatia takes over about 1,400 km of border with Serbia, BiH and Montenegro, thus assuming the role of border guard of the European Union. 

We already meet EU standards, we are increasing the number of border police officers, equipping border crossings, working on a project of 26 police boats... When asked by the Iranian ambassador whether the EU finances the Schengen border, the director of the Directorate for European Integration and International Relations, Filip Dragović, replied: "After joining the EU, the MUP of Croatia will receive 120 million euros for the future external border, and so far it has received about 70 million euros from Union funds. The MUP is the most successful in implementing EU projects, so far 28 out of a total of 34 have been implemented."
Their (co)financing actually takes place through EU funds and the state budget. 

This seemingly routine visit was not at all naive, because investigators learned that Iranian influence on this then-duo from the Croatian MUP has increased since then, which was subsequently further strengthened by Russian influence. 

Especially considering Karamarko's business dealings, which he manages as a hidden owner of the company "Soboli" and several other companies. These companies have long-standing exclusive contracts with companies with predominantly Russian capital. Karamarko sells them technical security systems, and especially special border surveillance systems. 

The current role of Karamarko's then-assistant Dragović is also far from harmless. For years, he has been positioned as a special UNDP border surveillance expert, using his international diplomatic status to have access to all security agencies in the region. In this context, the company Concept Solutions Group d.o.o. of Filip Dragović, run by his wife Tatjana Dragović, should also be mentioned. 

It now becomes clear why the migrant crisis has escalated recently, threatening to jeopardize the security policies of the EU and NATO, for the benefit of Russian-Iranian influence, which this also powerful alliance achieves through its network of associates in Croatia and the entire Western Balkan region. With the escalation of the crisis, the need for technical surveillance equipment increases, which is undoubtedly one of the financial goals of the Karamarko-Dragović duo.

However, there is also their insatiable goal of taking over the levers of power in neighboring Croatia. Their appetites are the positions of Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of Croatia. Karamarko already sees himself in the prime minister's chair, after he, with the help of Milijan Brkić, overthrows the current prime minister and HDZ president, Andrej Plenković. And Dragović sees himself in the deputy prime minister's chair, in the position of Minister of the Interior of Croatia, which was promised to him back in 2016 but was preempted by the current minister Davor Božinović. 

International investigators have also documented Dragović's covert intelligence-related task in BiH, where since the middle of last year he has been particularly involved in several projects financed by the EU, and has been in constant contact with HDZ's Mijo Krešić. 

Over the past ten years, Krešić has advanced precisely thanks to the creation of various security affairs, first as Deputy Minister of Security of BiH and recently as Deputy Minister of Defense of BiH. 

Krešić's party boss, Dragan Čović, president of HDZ BiH and a pre-war cadre in the defense industry factory "Soko" in Mostar, returned from a visit to Russia a few days ago, and quickly hurried to meet with his partner Milorad Dodik and convey to him the fresh views of Russian officials, which fan the already heated anti-Euro-Atlantic atmosphere spreading from North Macedonia, through Montenegro to Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

The Parliament of North Macedonia ratified this country's accession path to NATO a few days ago.

Before that, the Macedonians, with their brave Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, cleaned up their dirty laundry and arrested the leaders who were undermining the constitutional order of that country, the chief prosecutor and the head of the secret service.
Montenegro has been a NATO member for a year, and has also arrested responsible officials in its ranks for unconstitutional activities. 

Croatia, as a member of the EU and NATO, is also responsible for suppressing all attempts at unconstitutional activities in the bud, both on its own territory and on the territory of neighboring countries. 
If this does not happen soon, then a scenario of aggravation of the migrant and security crisis, which has escalated in the last few years according to the official report of the OSCE Mission in BiH, is quite certain.
