Silajdžić for Patria: The Federation government is on vacation, Parliament has been turned into a backdrop, the government is indebting itself, and citizens will pay the price

(Patria) - A full month of the ruling majority's so-called "collective annual leave" has passed, and the session of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament has not yet been scheduled. I remind the public that in the previous two months we had only one single session - and without any serious effect. If this is their standard of work, then the Federation is practically living without parliamentary control and without discussion of key issues, says the Party for BiH representative in the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament, Haris Silajdžić, in a statement to the Patria Agency.

"While the ruling parties are resting, the FBiH Government is borrowing hundreds of millions of marks. Loans are being taken out overnight, without the Parliament even discussing them. The opposition is pushed to the margins, institutions are being undermined, and citizens will be paying off the debts that the government is irresponsibly incurring for decades," adds Silajdžić.

He points out that this is no longer just inaction.

"This is a conscious trampling of citizens' trust. The House of Representatives has been turned into a backdrop, into a silent hall that is opened only when it is necessary to confirm the will of the Government or party leaders. Instead of being a corrective force, we have been turned into extras. As a representative, I cannot and will not agree to such humiliation of institutions. If sessions are not scheduled for months, if only one is held in two months, it means that the majority has neither the will nor the capacity to lead the Federation. They have gone on vacation, and left citizens to fight inflation, rising prices, and new debt burdens on their own, Silajdžić believes, concluding:

"This is not a vacation, this is an escape from responsibility. And citizens should know that their every day of inaction is paid for with our money, our future, and our country."
