Silajdžić: Nermin Nikšić is the gravedigger of the FBiH entity's energy sector, we are heading towards the 2014 scenario

(Patria) - Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina representative in the Federal Parliament Haris Silajdžić warns that we are heading towards a state of devastating civil unrest due to the collapse of the electricity system of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He recalls that the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina tried to create a new energy supply system back in 2008, but that it was destroyed.

Then, the SDP came to power and Nermin Nikšić became the prime minister of the F BiH entity.

"N. Nikšić's first term was marked by mass protests and the burning of institutions that did not burn even during the aggression against BiH. We can agree that he is by far the worst prime minister of all we have had," Silajdžić believes.

He states that during the government of Fadil Novalić, "almost nothing was invested in the energy sector, but favorable conditions worked in our favor, and problems were swept under the rug."

"After 2022, problems in the energy sector culminate and begin to appear where they were not before. The rug has become too small. The lack of a plan regarding this area from the current imposed government is a worrying indicator that the government's commitment is not the well-being of citizens, but the interests of all those who are against BiH.

N. Nikšić's second term will be worse than the first. He is not adept in any area, but when it comes to the energy sector, he will be remembered as its gravedigger for a number of reasons:

- Mines are not delivering even 50% of the required coal quantities for the needs of TPPs in FBiH and they want to shut them down (and what do we have as an alternative?)

- They voted for a ban on the construction of HPPs up to 10MW (which represents a serious installed capacity) and thus crippled our entity from building HPPs except for one more on the Drina River.

- They are covering up losses by increasing prices for households, and this will lead to a chain of price increases for all necessities (this 10% increase is NOTHING compared to what will happen in 2025 and 2026)

- CBAM comes into effect in 2026, which I spoke about in Parliament and asked the imposed government what they plan to do about it, where I was told in an official response: "that FBiH will ask the EU for an exemption."

- They have encouraged various cardboard revolutions, aarhuses, lejla kusturicas and other ignoramuses who live comfortably from the money of foreign embassies, propagating to us how bad it is that we have even these few TPPs, that we should not build HPPs, they are excellent at creating fake news and call for the liquidation of all those who oppose them, all in the name of their care for BiH (false, of course)," Silajdžić states.

He warns that all this inevitably leads to electricity imports and enormous bills for citizens.

The so-called non-governmental sector, he further states, is not interested in this, because foreign grants are more important to them.

"When the people see the light, I fear it will be too late, and I would not want 2014 to repeat itself, although we are relentlessly heading towards that scenario," Silajdžić warned.
