Silajdžić: 'Ginex' is on a general strike, what is the government (not) doing?

(Patria) - Workers of Goražde's 'Ginex' have entered a general strike, and the Party for BiH representative in the House of Representatives of the Federation of BiH Haris Silajdžić has called for an urgent reaction from the FBiH Government.

Silajdžić, as the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Energy, Industry and Mining of the House of Representatives of the FBiH, today sent a request for the Committee session to be held at the premises of 'Ginex' in Goražde, with the presence of all relevant actors - workers, company management, the Supervisory Board, the line minister, and the Prime Minister of the Federation.

'Ginex' workers are not asking for charity, but for a fair base of 6.15, what they have earned through years of hard work and contribution to the economy of the Federation. With each day of the strike, both the company and the state are losing,' Silajdžić stated.

He added that every day of production stoppage means delays in contracts and direct losses for Goražde, the Federation, and the entire defense industry.

He considers the behavior of those who, as he says, 'defended workers with words until yesterday, and are now betraying them with actions' to be particularly 'hypocritical'.

'It is time for the government to finally show up where the problems are, among the workers, and not to watch from their offices as the factory burns and the trust of the people who have kept this country on its feet disappears,' Silajdžić concluded.
