Silajdžić: Unity of pro-Bosnian political forces is an existential imperative

(Patria) - Haris Silajdžić, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the aggression against our country, later a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in an interview for Preporod.info commented on the moves made by the president of the RS entity, Milorad Dodik, in response to the guilty but non-final verdict at the Court of BiH, which represent an unambiguous blow to the constitutional order.

– It is clear that the international factor has played a decisive role in Bosnia and Herzegovina from Dayton to the present day, especially in crisis periods like the one we are going through. Reactions from Western countries, as well as most of the rest of the world, support the preservation of BiH's territorial integrity and sovereignty – Silajdžić stated.

He states, however, that it is necessary to consider the weakened role of established norms in international relations, as well as recent changes within political blocs and alliances, which, according to Silajdžić, distract attention from the crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina caused by the authorities from the RS entity attacking the Constitution of our country.

– On the other hand, the war in Ukraine is producing a whole series of severe political and economic consequences on the European continent, which should mean that European capitals will do what is necessary to prevent the activation of a new hotspot on the continent. We are also witnessing the fact that unpredictability characterizes the political sphere and makes it difficult to draw valid conclusions – Silajdžić pointed out.

He emphasizes that the unity of pro-Bosnian political actors is becoming a necessity.

– The unity of pro-Bosnian political actors and cooperation with all political forces that desire a peaceful, democratic Bosnia and Herzegovina, therefore, remains a necessity and an existential imperative – Silajdžić stated.

We remind that Dodik signed decrees on the promulgation of laws prohibiting the activities of state security and judicial institutions in the territory of that entity.

These acts were adopted by the National Assembly of the RS at a special session on February 27, and their entry into force represents a blow to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
