Silajdžić Appeals to Zukan: Do Not Attempt to Realise the Separatist Goals of the Dodik-Čović Duo

(Patria) - A session of the Legislative-Legal Committee of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is scheduled to be held in Sarajevo tomorrow at 10:00 AM.

The session was called by the Committee Chairman Belmin Zukan (SDP BiH), and its agenda will include, among other items, the Proposal for a Decision on Amendments to the Rules of Procedure.

On this occasion, Haris Silajdžić, a delegate of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Federal Parliament, addressed him in writing, appealing to him not to attempt to realise the separatist goals of the Dodik-Čović duo.

"There is no possibility that, while in sound mind and as long as I hold a mandate, I will agree to direct my political engagement in a way that would allow you to appoint Marin Vukoje as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as long as there are significantly better candidates for that position.

It is futile for you to try to merge this agenda of yours, which hides behind item 18 of the proposed agenda of the Committee session, with the other 22 items. I formally ask you, although I know you will not heed this, to separate the item on the Rules of Procedure.

The second matter is a request that you stop shamelessly spinning in public about the endangerment of the budget, pensions, and other things due to the (non-)holding of sessions of the Legislative-Legal Committee.

I am not asking you this because you are successful in assigning blame to my humble self and other colleagues from the opposition, but because it is irritating to watch the infantile game that a mature person is playing, and through the role of a people's representative.

You know very well that you can place all the aforementioned and similar items on the agenda, but if you exclude the Proposal for a Decision on Amendments to the Rules of Procedure.

Therefore, we can conclude that you are holding pensioners and all others who depend on our decisions as a human shield behind which you protect and inaugurate Vukoje.

It is astonishing how much you humiliate us, the delegates, and the public, convinced that this deception of yours is creative and convincing. You must know that everyone sees it clearly, and it is extremely embarrassing for us to watch this performance in which you think you have convinced the audience of the truthfulness of your claims.

I would take this opportunity to tell you that you are an example of a transitional form, in a political sense, and something relatively new that a part of the voters from the area defended by the Army and the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina are getting acquainted with.

You belong to this new order, a new political hybrid that is closer to the HDZ BiH and the HNS than to the fundamentals of pro-state politics.

There has been no one since the end of the former Yugoslavia until now who claimed to be fighting for a democratic, civic Bosnia and Herzegovina, a state of all peoples and citizens, and who, with so much strength and desire, using subterfuge (of items) and false claims, worked in the interests of proven separatists, those who are bothered by the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica.

Simply put, it was impossible to imagine from whom you received votes, and to whom you wish to deliver them, as a political force. But, here we are.

You claim to belong to the pro-state bloc, but in political practice you are closer to those who would mark parts of the state, schools, forests, and enterprises with an 'H'.

While you 'fight' for meritocracy, you proudly say that HDZ's Vukoje should be in the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina until 2043, even though, unlike his inexperience, we have candidates with considerable experience in the judiciary.

I ask you not to try, while you dwell in that transitional form, to present yourself as a pro-state force," Silajdžić stated.
