Sidran: I am so saddened by the news of Sulejman's death that I don't know what to say

After a long and serious illness, Sulejman Kupusović (63), a renowned Bosnian-Herzegovinian director, has passed away, reports the Patria news agency.

Relatives and friends were simply unprepared for such news, as evidenced by the current state of Abdulah Sidran, a well-known Bosnian writer and a great friend of Sulejman.

- I don't know anything smart to tell you at this moment. I am not able to talk, they told me this morning. This is too great a loss, and yet his Svjetlana (Sulejman's wife, editor's note) last night led me into the ceremonial box of the National Theatre at the opening of the SFF - says Sidran, asking us to understand his pain.

Meanwhile, numerous friends are already arriving at the Kupusović home, wishing to be with his family in these most difficult moments. 

Given that the Sarajevo Film Festival is currently underway, many actors are in Sarajevo, who are simply saddened by the departure of one of the greatest Bosnian directors.

In his rich career, it will be remembered that he also directed the first Bosniak opera, "Hasanaginica", which premiered in Sarajevo on March 18, 2000. In addition to theatre plays, he also directed several TV dramas, TV series, documentaries, and music programs.
