SFK 2000 Sarajevo a member of the European Club Association ECA

The great successes achieved by SFK 2000 Sarajevo have been crowned with another important event in the Club's history, which is membership in the European Club Association (ECA) in the form of an awarded place in the committee for women's football. Namely, the President of the ECA Committee for Women's Football and the head of French Lyon, currently the best-ranked club in women's football in Europe, Jean-Michel Aulas, informed about the admission of SFK 2000 Sarajevo to ECA membership, which begins with the new cycle 2015-2017 and will last until June 30, 2017, reports the BH news agency Patria.

SFK 2000 Sarajevo is the most successful Bosnian-Herzegovinian women's football club and has received numerous awards. In its history, SFK 2000 Sarajevo has been declared the best women's club in the Sarajevo Canton five times, and in the selection for the best athletes of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2014, SFK 2000 Sarajevo was among the finalists for the best team in our country. SFK 2000 Sarajevo is also the most successful women's football club in the region, with 13 consecutive BiH championship titles, 12 BiH Cup trophies, and SFK 2000 Sarajevo players have participated in the UEFA Women's Champions League 13 times, with the best placement achieved in the aforementioned competition being the round of 32 in 2009 and 2012.

In the UEFA club rankings, SFK 2000 Sarajevo was the best placed, when the club occupied 17th place, and besides working with the senior team, SFK 2000 Sarajevo pays a lot of attention to youth categories, where girls aged 5 to 16 train.

In addition to successful club results, the SFK 2000 Sarajevo collective is proud of the fact that its players and professional staff form the backbone of the national teams in the region.

Thanks to the recently signed memorandum and the beginning of cooperation with Football Club Sarajevo, the current champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina in football, SFK 2000 Sarajevo has decided to make a step forward in the club's organization, and the stability gained from cooperation with FK Sarajevo is directly reflected in the extreme dominance in the autumn part of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina for women, a competition in which SFK Sarajevo confidently holds the leading position with a ten-point lead over the second-placed team and a goal difference of 74:1 after eleven rounds played.

All of the above clearly shows that SFK 2000 Sarajevo is a club with a bright future, which достойно represents women's football in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Europe, and through activism in the European Club Association – ECA, it will further advocate for the popularization of women's football.
