SFF during the epidemic: Film screenings for 100 viewers per sector

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At the most attractive location of the Sarajevo Film Festival – Raiffeisen Open Air Cinema, the largest cinema screen in the region was erected today. Watching films from the Open Air program, under the open sky, is a special festival experience. This year, at the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival, due to the coronavirus pandemic and to protect the health of the audience and staff, all festival locations will have a special protocol.

Arrival at the Raiffeisen Open Air Cinema location, where films from the Open Air program are screened, involves a series of measures and a completely different protocol compared to all previous years.

Although the capacity of this cinema has been over 3000 seats until now, for the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival, the capacity has been reduced in accordance with the current epidemiological measures of the competent services and health experts. Films from the Open Air program will be viewable from different sectors at the location, with a maximum capacity of 100 people. Each sector will have its own entrance and exit to prevent contact between audience members during entry and exit. Upon entering and exiting each sector, or at the entrance and exit of the festival location, every visitor is obliged to wear a protective mask, and the Festival Directorate recommends wearing a protective mask during the film screening as well, even though the distance between each chair will be according to the prescribed measures and with physical distancing.

Upon entering the location, shoe disinfection and hand disinfection are mandatory, and disinfectant will be available within each sector.

Before each screening, disinfection will be carried out on surrounding surfaces and chairs, as well as all surfaces that the audience comes into contact with. Sectors in the Raiffeisen Open Air Cinema will be divided by colors and physically separated by barriers.

The entrance and exit from the cinema will be clearly marked, as will the entry and exit routes for each sector. All protective measures and recommendations will be displayed at all locations.

Until the beginning and during the Sarajevo Film Festival, the Festival Directorate will be in daily contact with the Civil Protection Headquarters of Sarajevo Canton and will respect every decision regarding the holding and realization of the Festival made by the competent institutions and health experts.
