Sixth day of search for missing Matej, Vulin claims there was no violence in the club

(Patria) - The intensive search for missing Matej Periš in Belgrade continues for the sixth consecutive day.

The disappearance of Matej Periš was reported to the Belgrade police on December 31 after he came to Belgrade with six friends to celebrate the New Year. He was last seen in the nightclub Gotik, while several surveillance camera footage appeared in Belgrade tabloids showing, as his father said, Matej.

Matej's father confirmed that the police found the taxi driver whose vehicle the young man tried to enter. The taxi driver, the father claims, was questioned and confirmed that Matej asked for a ride, but that the taxi was already occupied.

The Minister of Interior of Serbia, Aleksandar Vulin, said today on TV Pink that the Serbian police are doing everything to resolve the case of the missing young man from Split as soon as possible.

Minister Vulin also said that the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, takes a special and daily interest in this case.

"Not a single day since this happened has passed without President Vučić asking me if there is anything new, if there is any progress. We can imagine the suffering of that father, the sisters of the missing man from Split. What I can say at this moment is that we are not stopping, no one can blame the police for anything, we are giving our best, we are doing absolutely everything," emphasized Minister Vulin.

"Our operatives have spoken with the father several times, as well as with his friends, waiters, security. Divers of the Gendarmerie have been involved, the river unit is working, everything that is within the power of a police force we are doing. We know where the apartment was rented, where he moved, but the disappearance was reported late. There was no conflict or violence in the club. The father recognized his son in several recordings. The family will be the first to know whether the outcome is good or bad, but they will be the first to know," said Minister Vulin.
