Šešelj is dying, only six months left?

The leader of the Radicals, Vojislav Šešelj, who has been in detention at the Hague Tribunal for 12 years and was diagnosed with liver metastasis a month ago, is in mortal danger, writes the Serbian media, reports the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

Patients with his diagnosis, and Šešelj underwent surgery for colon cancer last year, during which 30 centimeters of this organ were removed, live from six months to several years, doctors warn.

- Vojislav Šešelj's health condition is serious, with elements of mortal danger and neglect in treatment - says doctor Milovan Bojić, head of the medical team from Serbia, upon returning from The Hague, where they examined Šešelj.

- The man is being treated improperly. He has not received 12 therapies. The metastases are in the liver and can spread - says Bojić, calling speculations that Šešelj could soon continue treatment at the Military Medical Academy (VMA) as "nonsense".

- We are far from that solution. We do not decide on that, but the Tribunal - adds Bojić. 

Doctors, oncology specialists, warn that Šešelj's health condition is very endangered and requires serious treatment.

- It is ungrateful to talk about prognoses, but practice indicates that patients with Šešelj's diagnosis can live from six months to five to ten years. It depends on many factors, on how preserved the liver function is, but also on the method of treatment. The question is whether surgery is possible and how much and how chemotherapy would affect him - says Marko Erak, head of the Department of Radiological Therapy at the Institute of Oncology of Vojvodina.

Director of the Institute of Oncology, Radan Džodić, says that surgery would be the best solution for Šešelj, but only if the metastases are removable.
