Sergej Trifunović: Even Milošević didn't want to step down, but he did – this riff-raff will too

(Patria) - There are no secrets there: he knows it, just as we know it. And our goal is not just to overthrow Vučić, but also the departure of his entire clique, which includes Ivica Dačić (current head of Serbian diplomacy, former prime minister, and former close associate of Slobodan Milošević), who collaborated with the radicals, Vojislav Šešelj, in the nineties, and who supported Slobodan Milošević's regime, said Serbian actor Sergej Trifunović, one of the initiators of the Belgrade protests against Aleksandar Vučić's regime, in an interview for Novi list.

For the fourth Saturday in a row, Belgrade residents are taking to the streets.

“That whole crew is riding again. The horsemen of the apocalypse are back on the stage, where there is no longer any place for them. Therefore, lustration is our absolute goal. We demand that these people be banned from engaging in politics for life. They will, of course, grab their seats and fight to the last drop of our blood, as is usually the case. But my God, even Milošević fell, who was a slightly stronger player than this riff-raff, so this riff-raff will fall too,” said the actor.

The protests began under the name "Stop Bloody Shirts", after Borislav Stefanović, one of the opposition leaders, was brutally beaten in Kruševac more than a month ago.

Last Saturday, citizens marched under the slogan "One in five million", which is a response to Vučić's statement that even if five million of them gathered, he would not fulfill any of their demands.

“He is aware of the fact that there is no turning back and that he cannot get out of this unscathed. And he is not indifferent because of it,” said Trifunović.
