Šepić: Why are candidates afraid of public confrontation

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Regarding last night's debate on Federal TV, candidate for the BiH Presidency and president of the Independent Bloc, Senad Šepić, commented on the actions of this public broadcaster, what he called "the fear of his opponents", and the departure of Mirsad Hadžikadić from the show.

"It is clear to everyone that the public broadcaster Federal TV favors regime candidates, or candidates whose political party has managed this house for years. Favoring worn-out policies and their candidates, dividing in debate shows, is just another indicator that politics controls the public broadcaster and does not want the changes that the people are asking for.

The public broadcaster should be in the interest of the people, and its editorial policy should be professional, not in the service of the current system that has set this country back. Not to mention RTRS, which cannot be called a media outlet, but rather Milorad Dodik's private media cudgel, but the public RTV service of the Federation of BiH is also completely anachronistic and in the service of the regime and worn-out policies. The people recognize and see this. That is why the reform and depoliticization of public broadcasters will be the focus of the newly elected authorities and new policies that will get a chance in the October elections," stated Šepić, and continued:

"I understand colleague Hadžikadić, but I believe that one should fight, stay in the show, look the people in the eye and speak publicly about regime media," said Šepić. He accused other Bosniak candidates for the Presidency: Džaferović, Bećirević, and Radončić of being afraid of public confrontation.

"I invite them again to confront each other publicly and not to run away. Let them choose the place and time," stated Senad Šepić, candidate for the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency.
