Šepić and Sokolović: We are not interested in positions in SDA or the 2018 lists, dismiss the thieves from the Congress!

It has become definitively clear today that the problems within SDA are not being resolved, and the parliamentarians who are seeking a more democratic SDA and the dismissal of those who stole at the SDA Congress last year will not give up their demands, writes Patria.

Salko Sokolović, Šemsudin Mehmedović, Senad Šepić, and Sadik Ahmetović are clear and state that they will no longer act within the SDA Club in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament.

Šepić told reporters that it is "well known what they agreed upon as a sign of goodwill from the party leadership, which should show that it wants to improve the situation within SDA and thus within Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that is to dismiss all those people and remove party officials and bodies who stole at last year's Congress in May."

- That is the first thing, and the second is to annul all decisions that have been made in the meantime regarding undemocratic and non-statutory and in some ways humiliating dismissals, pressures, and intimidation that have occurred. By doing so, they should show that we are moving towards stabilizing the situation and reaching an agreement. Since we have not received an answer today regarding President Bakir Izetbegović's stance on this, we have, in accordance with that, conveyed these views to the Working Group in an informal conversation – says Šepić. 

He adds that the quartet is "open to any kind of agreement, but it does not depend on us."

- The people leading the party must show that they want things to be resolved, not that they are deceiving us further, as has been the case since the last meeting a year and a half ago. I publicly call on Izetbegović and the SDA leadership to answer their membership and the public in BiH what they have fulfilled from the last agreement we had and what they have done regarding the justified demands. What we are doing now is not seeking any positions in the leadership or on some lists in 2018, as they are trying to accuse us in a rude and unfair manner. We simply want to improve the situation to be honest, democratic, and a situation within the party that will allow all party members to have a say, not just those who are close obedient followers, the families of a narrow group of people who unfortunately manage the largest party in BiH today – stated Šepić, adding that they are not seeking any positions.

- This is a matter of fighting for principles that we believe are good for all of us in BiH, and if there are no such shifts, I am not sure that anything serious can happen in a political sense when it comes to improving the position of the people in BiH. In the coming period, we will act outside the SDA Club – added Šepić.

Salko Sokolović also sent a message to other political parties in BiH.

- A message to all other political parties that function in this way like SDA. I would like members of other parties to initiate these democratic processes because only in that way, if we succeed in democratizing SDA, will we have interlocutors in building the state of BiH – stated Sokolović.
