Šepić: Čović should request the dismissal of Minister Pendeš

A person against whom an indictment has been filed is sitting in the Council of Ministers of BiH, but the rest of the ministers apparently see no obstacles in the fact that proceedings are being conducted against Marina Pendeš, the Minister of Defence, and that she has been denied access to classified information, writes the Patria News Agency.

Precisely because of this, Senad Šepić, a Member of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament, stated that he expected an announcement at today's session of the BiH Parliament before the representatives, and at least an explanation for initiating the initiative to dismiss the Minister of Defence of BiH, Marina Pendeš, against whom an indictment for abuse of office has been officially confirmed.

- Because, since we already have an initiative and explanations of a political nature for the dismissal of Minister Matanović, which we should declare ourselves on at the next session of Parliament on December 10, it seems to me a much more logical and responsible approach to deal with the issue of dismissing a minister who has been deprived of the right to access classified information, and who is supposed to lead BiH's access to NATO!? In this regard, since the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Dragan Čović, has been trying to portray himself lately as leading European and other processes in BiH, including those related to BiH's reform path, he can and should demonstrate this concretely through actions, not just words, because that is Europe and people could then believe him.

That is why I expected Chairman Zvizdić, along with Čović's request, to propose the dismissal of Minister Pendeš, because that is the European path, the standard, and the reforms that this country needs. I believe that we will have these steps and explanations at the next session because in this way we will show our citizens credibility and capacity for reforms – stated Šepić.
