Senad Šepić Announces Official Candidacy for Member of the BiH Presidency

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - President of the Independent Bloc Senad Šepić today officially confirmed his candidacy for member of the BiH Presidency from the Bosniak people at the party convention.

After the confirmation of his candidacy, Šepić stated in his speech that he will not go left or right, but only forward.

- In the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at this very place, on September 10 last year, we founded the Independent Bloc, a political project that opened a new page of hope and trust in this country. Today, again from the same place, I officially announce my candidacy for member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and thank my colleagues and friends in the Independent Bloc who nominated me, as well as everyone who supports me in the mission to offer the peoples and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina a different policy - hope instead of fear, solutions instead of conflict, and the future instead of the past.

Just a few dozen meters from this building, shortly after the war, I arrived from my hometown of Cazin and began studying at the Faculty of Philosophy. At that time, I believed it was possible to turn this country, which, like its capital Sarajevo, was still suffering from severe war wounds, into a modern state where all people would have equal opportunities, not just the obedient and chosen, where we would be measured by our skills and qualities, and where we could start families that would not worry about security, employment, good education, and good healthcare and pension care.

Through my work so far, I have shown through deeds that I understand the situation of the common man and our people, and that I know how to prioritize real problems.

The Independent Bloc is a new, middle path, of a broad political center that has a vision of a different country turned towards the future.

Just as 20 years ago, when I came to Sarajevo, I believed I could change society, today I am even more convinced that the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina is threatened and attacked, that it is equally destroyed by right-wing nationalism and left-wing populism, and that it needs a new policy and vision. Therefore, I accept the candidacy, so that I can tell myself and my children that I gave everything I could for this country to take the right path. And I deeply believe in this country and am sure that it can be successful and great, just as its people and nations are great. And so, with the support of all of them and with God's help, we will win together in these elections - Šepić said.
