Senad Mašović assumed duty as Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A formal ceremony of handover of duties of the Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces was held today at the BiH Armed Forces Hall between Lieutenant General Ante Jeleč and Major General Senad Mašović.

Minister of Defence Marina Pendeš stated that she expects the future Chief to work intensively and for the BiH Armed Forces to be recognized as the best part of society, expecting the MAP to be activated as soon as possible.

General Ante Jeleč emphasized that he is proud to have led forces that have done good, that have been forces of interest to BiH in the world.

The new Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces, Major General Mašović, said that it is important that the BiH Armed Forces have continuity and that an intensive period lies ahead, with significant improvement of capacities and capabilities expected, equipping of units, and the commencement of the first annual review cycle, i.e., the activation of the MAP.

- A series of challenges lie before us that we must respond to. We have sufficient understanding from state institution representatives in the segment of creating prerequisites for increasing budget allocations, which will intensely continue the process of modernization and improvement of capabilities and create a respectable armed force that will be ready at all times to execute the Law on Defence throughout the territory of BiH in the interest of all citizens of BiH - Mašović said.
