Semir Efendić elected president of the Party of BiH

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Semir Efendić was elected president of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina (SBiH) by acclamation at today's Congress of the party, as he was the only candidate. As highlighted, the Party for BiH is a centrist party and is open to all those who love BiH. 

Efendić announced that the party he leads will address issues of vital importance for the citizens of BiH, whom he invited to act together regardless of their ethnicity, so that by building internal political strength, the crisis in BiH can be overcome, the greatest since the signing of the Dayton Agreement, and a way out of the long-standing vicious circle can be found.

"To all those who love this country, throughout BiH, I would invite them to stop and end the period of instability. Neither the international community, nor the Security Council, nor anyone from the East or West can do this. Only we can do it. Let's get moving and stop this crisis by respecting the Constitution, what is prescribed by Dayton, and what has been passed in parliament. There are rulings of European courts that are an obligation for our country, but we should seek solutions in a peaceful atmosphere, without pressure, and in peace. Until then, let's focus on the economic development of BiH, social development in all areas," he added.

Efendić believes that this is the only way to stop the exodus of the population, especially young and working-age people, from our country.

"Let's not underestimate the situation we are in. Let's not forget that World War I started here, don't think that a third one cannot start. Let's not wait for our eastern and western friends or enemies to solve our problems, because they certainly don't feel them like we do. I hope there are no people in the country who will be successful pawns of their mentors who will achieve their ambitions here. They won't. Only they and the people will pay a high price. The highest price of geopolitical events is paid most by all our citizens, and only they shed tears when powers clash and seize. It is high time that we ourselves solve the crisis we find ourselves in. Only we have the crisis, while everyone else has interests, mostly political ones," he emphasized.

He stated that BiH needs strength that can cope with challenges, and invited all citizens of BiH to unite around peace, progress, and development. 

Numerous guests attended the SBiH Congress, including former high-ranking party official Beriz Belkić, academician Abdulah Sidran, Miro Lazović, Mothers of Srebrenica, the president of the Serb Civic Council from Tuzla, and former SBiH president Amer Jerlagić.
