Selmanović: How long will the citizens of Vogošća be hostages of an irresponsible government?

(Patria) - SDA MP in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, Faruk Selmanović, published a new status on his Facebook profile asking how long the citizens of Vogošća will be hostages of an irresponsible government?

"It seems that there isn't a day when the Sarajevo Canton Government doesn't demonstrate its 'expertise' in further degrading Sarajevo Canton. This time, through its (lack of) care for the residents of the municipality of Vogošća, who in the 21st century, in the wealthiest canton of a European country, cannot exercise their right to heat their own homes.

For days, the citizens of this municipality have been witnessing the neglect and ignorance of their problem by those who caused it. Namely, the Sarajevo Canton Government decided this year to stop the practice of adequate co-financing the procurement of energy for 'BAGS-ENERGOTEHNIKA' d.d. Vogošća, a company that has been supplying heat energy to citizens, public institutions, and private companies within Vogošća for over 35 years.

The relevant Ministry, headed by a member of Our Party, Bojan Bošnjak, not only refuses to release funds from the Sarajevo Canton budget for this purpose but also refuses to visit the aforementioned company, of which the Sarajevo Canton is a 2/3 owner.

In addition to all of the above, according to the information I have, Minister Bošnjak even tried to force the management of this company to issue a public call for the procurement of materials without secured funds, which would open the door for further degradation of this company, crucial for the citizens of Vogošća.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of the Canton, instead of stopping the wrong decisions of the relevant minister, chooses to protect his party colleague by imposing media blackout and buying social peace with a 100,000.00 KM loan, fully aware that around 1 million KM is needed to resolve the aforementioned problem.

Why are the citizens of Vogošća hostages of the system? Why are budget funds not being paid, and what has changed since 2023 when they were paid regularly? The answer is more than clear - poor management is coming due, and the Canton's budget is empty.

The citizens of Vogošća, given that they did not support the current government in the elections, will apparently pay the price because there is no money, no heating, and no mercy for those who do not support the 'trojka' (the ruling coalition), is the clear message from the regime in Sarajevo Canton. I call on them to prove otherwise," Faruk Selmanović stated in his post.
