Selman still claims that the election of Dragan Lukač is lawful

The Independent Board of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina this week, after interviews with candidates for the position of director of the Federal Police Administration, elected Dragan Lukač, the current director of that administration, who, along with eight other candidates, applied for the public competition announced on October 1, writes the news agency Patria.

However, speculation about this election continues in the public, especially after Svevlad Hoffman, advisor to the director of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the candidates, left the written part of the exam, stating that Lukač's application was illegal. Hoffman also announced criminal charges against Sead Selman, president of the Independent Board of the PFBiH, but he tells Patria that everything was done in accordance with the law.

- Of the five present members of the Independent Board, four were for Lukač, and one against. All accusations are unfounded and baseless. No one does this personally; the Independent Board is a body in the Parliament of the FBiH. There is no decision here that belongs to anyone. We work and make decisions by majority vote according to the Rules of Procedure and always adhere to the law - says Selman.

The Independent Board has seven members, and the session at which Lukač was elected as the best candidate was not attended by Božo Bagarić and Enver Ćosićkić.

In accordance with the applicable legal procedures, the proposal of the Independent Board is forwarded to the relevant minister, i.e., the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.

The government should decide on the proposal of the Independent Board within a maximum of 30 days, i.e., by December 18.
