Selector optimistic despite injuries: We will achieve our goal next year

We have no alternative for Džeko, nor did we have one for Ibišević. But, what can you do. It is clear that we now have to change our ambitions. I wanted to go to Israel for a win, but now we need to do everything to avoid losing the match – Safet Sušić said briefly in an interview for the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

On the eve of tomorrow's gathering of the Dragons, it is now almost certain that selector Sušić, besides Avdija Vršajević, will not be able to count on Edin Džeko for the upcoming qualifying match against Israel.

The doctor of our team, Dr. Reuf Karabeg, said that Džeko's injury is serious and requires a certain amount of time for Džeko to recover. Sušić was already without Ibišević at the start of the qualifiers, and the appearance of Tine Sven Sušić is also in question. Patria unofficially learns that Sušić could be off the field for the entire next month.

- If we bring one point from Israel, it means we remain in the race for the World Cup. We can wait for all our injured players to return, and then achieve our goal next year – Sušić said for NAP.

- I am sure that we can win five out of six matches, which would be enough to go to the World Cup.

Sušić, like the other players, is worried ahead of the match against Israel, but they hope to still get a favorable result against Israel. The captain's armband instead of Džeko could be taken by Asmir Begović, NAP writes.
