Sejfudin Tokić moved to Banja Luka and wants to be President of RS

Sejfudin Tokić, former president of the Social Democratic Union of BiH, currently president of the “Bosniak Movement for Equality of Peoples”, claims he will be an independent candidate for the president of Republika Srpska, but did not submit the application to the Central Election Commission of BiH on time to be an independent candidate.

Tokić, however, says that this is not an obstacle for him and that he has found partners among political parties from the Federation of BiH that will participate in the elections for the institutions of the smaller entity, who will nominate and support him in the October elections.

However, none of the parties have yet publicly stated that they will nominate him.

Despite this, he believes that he can “defeat Milorad Dodik for the position of president of Republika Srpska” in the October elections. He has already started his election campaign and moved to Banja Luka with his family three months ago.

He is counting on the votes not only of Bosniaks living in this entity but also on the votes of people displaced around the world who have the right to vote in RS.

- If I win, the position of president would be a place where political and economic activities would be networked, not only for Bosniaks but for all patriots who wish well for BiH, as opposed to those who advocate for the country's destruction – he claims.

Tokić believes that Bosniaks are marginalized in the political currents of RS, that they do not politically exist in over 40 municipalities in RS because they do not have their representatives in municipal assemblies.

For him, the five ministers representing Bosniaks in the Government of RS are just puppets of the local oligarchy led by Milorad Dodik.
