Sejfović returned to KPZ Sarajevo

Caught fugitive Amel Sejfović was taken to KPZ Sarajevo, from where he escaped on September 3 with the help of KPZ employees, writes Patria agency.

He was apprehended in the Visoko area in a coordinated operation by members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton (MUP KS) and the Federal Police Administration (FUP). After criminal processing, Sejfović was returned to custody.

A larger number of people helped the armed Sejfović in his escape and hiding, and six of them are already in custody. The search is still on for the motorcyclist who met him after his escape from KPZ Sarajevo. The motorcycle was found in Ciglane, but the accomplice has not been found yet.

Sejfović is on trial for the robbery of a bank in Ilidža on November 5, 2015, when around 300,000 KM were stolen, which have never been found.

In addition to Sejfović, Arif Hajradinović, Alma Sejfović, Nizama Beširević, Haris Hajrović, Goran Šakota, Samir Baltić, Jasmin Ibišević, and Tarik Zećirović are also accused. They are charged with several serious criminal offenses: robbery, attempted murder, serious offenses against public safety of people and property, preparation of a criminal offense, and aiding an offender after the commission of a criminal offense.

As Patria agency has learned, Sejfović will also be charged with the new criminal offense of escape from prison.

Azra Bavčić, spokesperson for the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, stated for the media that the Prosecutor's Office coordinated and supervised all activities of the police agencies involved in his apprehension in this case.

- MUP KS, as the leading police agency in the apprehension of the escaped Amel Sejfović, closely cooperated with OSA and the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office. Assistance was provided by SIPA, FUP, MUPs of Zenica-Doboj Canton and Central Bosnia Canton, and the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina - said Bavčić.
