Sefić's Custody Extended for Another Two Months

The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo has extended the custody of the accused Sanjin Sefić for another two months, confirmed for Patria by Azra Bavčić, spokesperson of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office.

Sefić is charged with the serious criminal offense against the safety of public traffic and the criminal offense of failing to provide assistance to an injured person after a traffic accident. On October 10, 2016, driving at a speed exceeding 100 km/h at a pedestrian crossing on the main Sarajevo road, he killed two female students.

Sefić fled the scene and escaped to Serbia via the Uvac border crossing, where he was arrested on October 11 and held in extradition custody until January 9, when he was extradited to the Bosnian judiciary.

Sefić's lawyer requested that the court impose any kind of restrictive measures, but the court ordered a two-month custody that may last until April 3 or until a new court decision.
