Sedika was trapped in the rubble for hours

The injured woman's brother-in-law told the BH News Agency Patria that doctors at the Zenica hospital predict a quick recovery for Belma, while her mother Sedika will remain in the hospital for some time, after they were injured on Sunday evening in a landslide in Bare near Kakanj, in which one person also died, writes the Patria News Agency.

Fikret Merdić told Patria that Sedika's condition is quite complicated, as her legs were trapped in the rubble for a long time and without blood circulation. Her recovery will be long, she is still in intensive care, but doctors hope that in the end there will be no major complications.

On Sunday evening, a landslide occurred in the village of Bare near Kakanj, in which one woman lost her life and three were injured.

- Fortunately, Sedika and Belma were trapped in the hallway. If they had been in the living room or somewhere else, the consequences would have been even more severe - said Merdić.

He added that his brother has been living with his family in the settlement of Bare for a long time, but they have never had problems, nor have they noticed the slightest ground movement in previous years.

Municipal services evacuated 19 families whose homes were destroyed on Sunday or are in the dangerous zone of the landslide. Authorities will provide them with temporary accommodation, writes Patria.
