On this day, August 30, 1943, the first issue of Oslobođenje was printed. The first issues came out of the printing press in Donja Trnova near Bijeljina, as an anti-fascist newspaper.
Two months ago, on June 30, Oslobođenje published its 25,000th issue. The newspaper did not cease publication even during the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Oslobođenje journalists performed their duties in an improvised newsroom in a shelter after their office building was destroyed. More Oslobođenje workers were killed during the siege of Sarajevo, and 25 were wounded, writes Patria.
