Securitas' 1,800 guards protect over 5,000 facilities in BiH

Have you ever wondered who the guys, but also the girls, you see in banks, next to ATMs, in shopping malls, smaller shops, hospitals, gas stations, around embassies, at various events...in uniforms that say "Securitas"?

When you see them, do you think they had to pass very demanding psycho-physical tests and training to do security work? Do you even know what they have to master, know, and how risky their job is?

They are just maturing young men, family men, fathers, mothers who leave their children at home, and they take care of the security of more than 2,000 clients in Bosnia and Herzegovina and guard more than 5,000 locations.

Securitas BH d.o.o. is the largest group of private security agencies for persons and property in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Following the latest reorganization, Securitas BH d.o.o. manages the operations of two agencies for the protection of persons and property, namely Securitas d.o.o. Mostar and AWG Gama Sigurnost d.o.o. Sarajevo.

For all types of clients, they provide combined protection, which includes physical and technical protection, alarm-monitoring operational center, intervention teams, transport of money and valuables, personal protection, and security engineering.

You can contact them at Bačići 15 in Sarajevo if you need facility protection, security for a cultural or sports event, or even if you want to have your personal bodyguard. They have such clients too, but they don't want to reveal their names.

Daniela and Lejla emphasize that their guys and girls guarded Angelina Jolie, Travolta... world-class movie stars at SFF. At such times, there are no usual uniforms with the inscription "Securitas". Sometimes they wear formal uniforms, and sometimes they are discreetly in civilian clothes.

Currently, they have 1,900 employees, of which 1,800 are guards, including 23 women. They lead in many aspects, including providing opportunities for capable women to showcase their skills and courage, even in the intervention team.

Sanela Abadžić is a mother of three girls. She has only been with "Securitas" for three months, but she has already had the chance to show what she knows. She is the first woman on the intervention team.

She says she feels fear, and it's good as long as she feels it when she's in the field. She is a martial arts master. At first glance, a beautiful lady, fragile and gentle. While you sit and talk with her, you don't for a moment think that she and her colleague from the intervention team arrive at a monitored facility as soon as the alarm or the so-called "panic button" sounds.

There has been everything in the field, Sanela tells us. Encounters with robbers, and once she was even attacked by a Tornjak dog. It is risky, but as she says, she loves her job.

Her colleague Emir Šabanović has been a security guard for six years. He is currently the leader of the intervention team. His job is not boring, and every day is a story in itself.

While working at KUM in Košev, Emir states, there were exciting and unusual situations. From having to chase drunks, to breaking up two groups that had already fought in a bar somewhere and were brought to KUM, to having to guard patients in operating rooms who were under the influence of narcotics and anesthesia could not take effect.
