Sebija, the "first among Bosniaks," leads the state of BiH; Bakir is unfortunately just an executor

Today's session of the Sarajevo Canton Government showed that not only in this city, canton, and entity, but in the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is not BiH Presidency member Bakir Izetbegović who calls the shots, but his wife "Professor Sebija," writes the Patria news agency.

The cantonal government is a co-founder of KCUS and proposes two members of the Management Board, but it has no authority over the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo when it comes to appointments that fall under the jurisdiction of the Government of the Federation of BiH.

However, the applicable legal regulations and the Management Board that dismissed Prof. Dr. Damir Aganović from the position of KCUS director were fine, until Prof. Dr. Rusmir Mesihović was appointed to the top position.

That is when problems began for the "first among Bosniaks."

Sebija Izetbegović, who, in an unprecedented manner in any country, experienced her professional advancement only after her husband became a member of the BiH Presidency and strengthened his positions in the SDA, desperately wants that position.

She is trying in every possible way to challenge and overturn Mesihović's appointment. Because after she secured the director's position at the General Hospital "Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš," the "first lady" felt it was not enough, and she reserved the KCUS chair for herself.

According to her instructions, the cantonal Minister of Health, Eldan Lokmić, problematized this appointment at today's government session.

As Patria learns, Lokmić insisted that the government adopt a conclusion annulling the election of Rusmir Mesihović due to a conflict of interest, and that the Management Board be formed based on actual facts, since the City of Sarajevo and the Presidency of the Republic of BiH are registered as co-founders in the court register.

The government is not competent to determine the existence of a conflict of interest; that should be done by a parliamentary commission that has not been formed for over a year, so there is no body in the FBiH or at the state level to investigate this.

And even if one existed, Mesihović is not in a conflict of interest. The day after he was elected director, he submitted his resignation in accordance with applicable legal regulations.

As for the Management Board, i.e., its registration in the court register only now, the question arises how it was legal as such when Prof. Dr. Faris Gavrankapetanović was chosen as director, or when Prof. Dr. Damir Aganović was elected and dismissed.

As our interlocutor said, all of this is just stirring up trouble and raising dust, i.e., creating problems where there are none, alongside hundreds of burning issues that no one is solving, and solely because of someone's personal interests. But let it now be officially known who is the "first among Bosniaks" - Professor Sebija Izetbegović.
