Sebija Izetbegović, Who Studied for 11 Years, Dismisses Academician Senka Mesihović-Dinarević

The newly appointed director of the University Clinical Center of Sarajevo (UKCS), Sebija Izetbegović, wife of SDA president and BiH Presidency member Bakir Izetbegović, has dismissed the long-time head of the Pediatric Clinic at UKCS, the esteemed doctor and the only academician at UKCS, Prof. Dr. Senka Mesihović-Dinarević, reports the Patria news agency.

Instead of Professor Mesihović-Dinarević, Dr. Edo Hasanbegović, originally from Gacko and a compatriot of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdić, has been appointed as the head of Pediatrics.

Senka Mesihović-Dinarević confirmed to the media the information about her dismissal and the appointment of Dr. Hasanbegović as head of the Pediatric Clinic of UKCS, but she did not wish to comment on the decision of Director Izetbegović.

Incidentally, Senka Mesihović-Dinarević is the only academician employed at UKCS and the sister of former UKCS director Prof. Dr. Rusmir Mesihović. She graduated as the top student of her generation from the Faculty of Medicine in 1982. She is a recipient of the "Dr. Bogdan Zimonjić" award and the "Hasan Brkić" Gold Badge. Since 1982, she has been employed at the Pediatric Clinic in Sarajevo, and she has held the position of head of the Clinic since 2003.

She has published more than 205 papers in domestic and international medical journals. She has presented at numerous domestic and international conferences. She is the author of 10 books, seven manuals, a reviewer of five books, a mentor for undergraduate theses of students at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Sarajevo and in the United States, the College of Health Sciences, and the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Sarajevo, as well as a mentor for numerous master's and doctoral theses.

Since 2008, she has been a full member of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In contrast to the brilliant career of academician Prof. Dr. Senka Dinarević-Mesihović, the new director of UKCS, Sebija Seka Izetbegović, studied at the Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo for almost 11 years, and it is distasteful and unnecessary to speak about her wartime specializations and attendance of postgraduate studies in Zagreb. Nevertheless, as politics works wonders, with the help of the surname Izetbegović, she has risen to the position of director of the largest medical institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Her professional and scientific work is more than modest, as evidenced by any relevant scientific database. The new director was the only candidate for this position. Her husband Bakir said it was good that she is in that position because she has good connections and is influential!?

The dismissal of Prof. Dr. Senka Mesihović-Dinarević was also expected because, allegedly, Sebija Izetbegović has always been jealous of the scientific and professional success of academician Mesihović-Dizdarević.

The manic dismissal, if not the first, then among the first at UKCS after she was installed in the director's chair, is just another in a series of proofs of how bitter, vengeful, jealous, and vain a person Sebija Izetbegović is.
