Sebija Izetbegović loses lawsuit against doctor Dizdarević

(Patria) - Sebija Izetbegović, director of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS), has lost a lawsuit against doctor Zehra Dizdarević, who confirmed this information for N1.

Namely, Izetbegović sued Dizdarević for defamation after the doctor said she doubted her academic path and the acquisition of diplomas and academic titles.

In the lawsuit, Izetbegović demanded that Dizdarević pay her 5,100 KM in damages for defamation, however, by the first-instance verdict of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo, the director of KCUS will have to pay the court costs of this proceeding in the amount of 1,895 KM.

“I expected this verdict, my lawyer informed me today, so I haven't received it yet nor had a detailed insight into it,” doctor Dizdarević told N1.

Izetbegović initiated this civil proceeding last April, and after more than a year, a first-instance verdict was reached.

Let us recall, Dizdarević in a reaction for Face TV on one occasion expressed “doubt about the academic education” of Izetbegović when that topic was in the public spotlight for some time.

“I am sorry that I yielded to requests to help her in building an academic career and to join the academic community to which she never belonged,” Dizdarević said then.
