SDP, with the help of partners, rejected the report of the Center for Social Work of KS, a message to Mahir Delić due to internal party problems

The KS Assembly, at today's continuation of the session, considered the work reports of public institutions in the field of social protection for 2022, including: the Educational Center of Sarajevo Canton, the Gerontology Center, the Therapeutic Community - Campus of Sarajevo Canton, the Family Counseling Center, the Home for Social Health Care of Persons with Disabilities and Other Persons, the Home for Children without Parental Care, the Sarajevo Canton Employment Service, and the Cantonal Center for Social Work.

Although the directors and representatives of these institutions spoke about numerous difficulties they face, such as insufficient staff, specialist doctors, financial resources, and accommodation capacities, almost all reports received the support of the KS Assembly, except for the report of the Public Institution "Cantonal Center for Social Work," headed by Mahir Delić from SDP.

Those who carefully followed the KS Assembly session, and who know the processes within SDP a little better, can easily connect the dots. This institution did not receive the Assembly's support solely for political reasons. Delić resigned a few months ago as the president of the Municipal Organization SDP Novi Grad. He was even told that his report would not be accepted.

On October 2, 2023, a collective resignation of 28 members of the Municipal Board of SDP BiH Novi Grad Sarajevo was submitted to the president of SDP BiH, Nermin Nikšić.

The signatories are submitting their collective resignation from all positions they hold within the Municipal Board of SDP BiH Novi Grad, and among them are Mahir Delić, the president of the Municipal Board, as well as the head of the election staff in the last elections, Samir Čajić, and other members.

This decision followed the cancellation of the election-reporting conference of the Municipal Board SDP Novi Grad by the decision of the SDP Presidency on September 8, and at the session of the KS SDP Sarajevo held on September 28, a conclusion was adopted to dissolve the Municipal Board SDP Novi Grad, a decision on which the SDP Presidency will make at its next session.

"Since the Decision of the Municipal Board SDP Novi Grad, nor the will of the majority of members, nor the Statute of SDP BiH were respected, but rather the proposals of the KS SDP BiH, created by certain members (a minority of 7 members) from the Municipal Board SDP BiH Novi Grad, without even attempting to talk to the other members (a majority of 27 members), we consider ourselves humiliated and belittled, despite the excellent result (8700 votes) achieved in the General Elections, and we, as responsible people, have decided to submit our resignation," states the letter addressed to President Nermin Nikšić, Secretary General Elvir Karajbić, members of the SDP BiH Presidency, and the president of KS SDP BiH Adnan Šteta.

Samir Čajić, one of the members of the Municipal Board SDP Novi Grad Sarajevo, publicly stated that Damir Hadžić, a former official of this party, wants to control the SDP in Novi Grad through his wife Alma Hadžić, who is in the Municipal Board SDP Novi Grad Sarajevo.

Turbulence in the Sarajevo SDP is increasing, and today's vote by SDP deputies who abstained only on this report, as well as those from NIP and Naša stranka, shows that this is an agreement within the 'trojka' (three parties), at the request of SDP. Six opposition deputies voted for the report of the Cantonal Center for Social Work.

Although the situation with the Municipal Board SDP Novi Grad is currently "on hold," there was a plan to appoint Abel Baltić as commissioner. However, the problem with Baltić arose when irregularities began to be revealed at the JU Health Center KS, which he managed. Therefore, the report of JU Health Center KS did not receive support at the KS Assembly, and this is a prelude to the dismissal of the Management Board, and then Baltić. And now, it is very likely Delić as well.

Several complaints have been filed against Baltić with the KS Prosecutor's Office, and deputy Muamer Bandić also spoke about this at the KS Assembly. Baltić is suspected of rigging tenders, and the portal Istraga published an audio recording that implicates Baltić. The director of the Health Center concluded a harmful contract for advertising billboards that was less valuable than the previous contract. The procurement of uniforms for Health Center employees is also questionable, for which 399,496 KM including VAT was paid. The union complained that the uniforms were inadequate, and a large number of employees bought their own uniforms privately.

Now, a move is expected from Adnan Šteta, the head of KO SDP Sarajevo, who should calm the turbulence within the party and municipal organizations so that they can enter the local elections prepared.
