SDP submits Bill on Election, Termination of Mandate, and Recall of Municipal Mayors

SDP BiH will submit a Bill on Amendments to the Law on Election, Termination of Mandate, Recall, and Replacement of Municipal Mayors in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, confirmed SDP Vice-President Zoran Mikulić.

Mikulić pointed out that this proposal is not directly related to the recall of SDP mayor Edin Delić in Lukavac, because even if this Bill receives support in Parliament, it will happen after the scheduled referendum in Lukavac, but the Lukavac case prompted SDP to take this step to avoid similar situations in the future.

The proposal stipulates that in the next period, if citizens do not vote to recall the mayor in a referendum, early elections for council members would be held, not just for the mayor as is currently the case.

Lukavac Mayor Edin Delić stated that the Municipal Council's decision to initiate his recall has nothing to do with his current work, because SDA, according to his information, decided to move to oust him the same evening he was elected mayor by the citizens.

We remind you that a rally of support for Delić was recently held in Lukavac, attended by about five thousand citizens.
