SDP marks Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Mostar

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Cantonal Board of the SDP BiH HNK held a ceremonial session on Monday marking the 30th anniversary of the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, recalling the referendum in which BiH decided that our country should follow the path of independence from the then state union, towards a sovereign and independent Bosnia and Herzegovina, a state of all equal citizens and peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the current moments of threats to the territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is important to repeatedly emphasize and highlight this indisputable fact, regardless of all attempts to belittle the outcome of the referendum at the time. This will not succeed because that event was the initial trigger for the international recognition of Bosnia and Herzegovina as an independent and sovereign state, the SDP HNK states.

In his congratulatory message on the occasion of Independence Day, the President of the Cantonal Board of SDP BiH HNK, Ismet Lulić, reminded that Bosnians and Herzegovinians of all nationalities chose a sovereign, independent, autonomous and integral state on March 1, 1992, in which all citizens, peoples and nationalities are equal.

- I hope that we will continue to build such a country, respecting and appreciating each other for a better future for all of us. Therefore, the message from the ceremonial session of the Cantonal Board of SDP BiH HNK is: Everything for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina for nothing! Happy Independence Day of BiH! – Lulić stated.

Along with this ceremonial session, the Cantonal Board of SDP BiH HNK also held a “Round Table” titled: “Causes and Consequences of Inequality in BiH and the Social Democratic Response.” 

On this topic and solutions that can quickly and efficiently eliminate all forms of discrimination in Bosnian-Herzegovinian society, speaking before a large number of Mostar citizens were Prof. Dr. Elvis Fejzić, professor at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo, Jasmin Branković, MA, Assistant Minister of Education and Science of the Federation of BiH, Lana Prlić, Vice President of SDP BiH, and Ismet Lulić, President of the Cantonal Board of SDP BiH HNK.
