SDP requests extraordinary session of the BiH Parliament and disclosure of the Reform Agenda content

The presidents of the SDP clubs of delegates and representatives in the BiH Parliament, Aner Žuljević and Elvir Karabajić, have sent an initiative to the presiding officers of the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples, Edin Mušić and Lidija Bradara, for convening an extraordinary session, reports the Patria News Agency.

- Given that for months we have been facing a completely unclear, irresponsible, and "secret" approach in the public sphere in the process of harmonizing and adopting the Reform Agenda, with very clear intentions of signing a document that has not been considered and discussed by the Parliament, and the public in general, we believe this is a move that could cause unforeseeable socio-political consequences.

What can be seen in the very brief announcements is that this is the most important document on which the future and quality of life of citizens will directly depend in the coming years, and therefore we demand that, in the public interest, extraordinary sessions of both houses of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH be urgently scheduled, at which representatives and delegates, as well as the entire public, will be informed of all its details.

We particularly note that for days, with reason, we have been facing great public concern due to the irresponsible and non-transparent process regarding agreements by holders of executive power, because it is more than obvious that this is exclusively about delivering promised moves whose greatest consequences will be felt by the citizens themselves.

Therefore, we ask you to, in the public interest, protect the credibility of institutions, and the legality of the entire procedure, as urgently as possible, make a decision at the collegiums to convene extraordinary sessions with only one item on the agenda, which is information on the content of the Reform Agenda.

The obligation of all of us before the Constitution and laws of this country is, above all, to ensure the transparency of all moves and decisions we make, whether as participants in executive or legislative bodies of power, and we consider this request solely as a contribution to intensifying our joint activities in enabling citizens to know what we are not only obliged to inform them about, but also to actively involve them in making the final decision.

Hoping that you will understand the importance of the moment, we expect an urgent reaction and a call for the mentioned sessions. Otherwise, we will request the convening of sessions by collecting the necessary number of signatures from representatives and delegates, it was announced from the SDP.
